A Weekend in Copenhagen

Welcome to Copenhagen, the vibrant capital of Denmark! With its beautiful architecture, world-renowned cuisine, and exciting attractions, it's no wonder that this city is a top destination for travelers from around the globe. Here's a fun itinerary for 2 days in Copenhagen that will make your trip unforgettable!

Day 1: Explore the City on Bike

To truly experience Copenhagen like a local, rent a bike and head to Torvehallerne, a bustling food market located in the city center. Treat yourself to some traditional Danish pastries like "wienerbrød" and "kanelsnegle" and then continue your bike ride along the city's charming streets.

Visit Carlsberg Brewery and learn about the history and making of Denmark's famous beer. The tour is interactive and includes a tasting of some of Carlsberg's brews, including their signature pilsner. Make sure to take some fun photos at the brewery's photogenic spots (put it on the gram)

Head on over to experience the unique culture of Freetown Christiania, a self-proclaimed autonomous neighborhood in the heart of Copenhagen. This community is known for its vibrant street art, colorful houses, and alternative lifestyle. I recommend 1-2 hours to explore the markets, cafes, and shops.

For a night out on the town, head to the trendy Meatpacking District. This former meatpacking area has been transformed into a lively neighborhood filled with bars, restaurants, and cafes.

Day 2: Visit the Iconic Sights

Take a boat tour of Copenhagen's canals and harbor, it is a great way to see the city's architecture and landmarks from a different perspective. You'll pass by the famous Little Mermaid statue, the Opera House, and the colorful buildings of Nyhavn. Don't forget to snap some photos!

Next, visit the iconic Tivoli Gardens, one of the oldest amusement parks in the world. Enjoy the thrill rides, watch the live shows, and indulge in some delicious Danish food, like hotdogs and ice cream. You can also take a stroll through the beautiful gardens and enjoy the scenery.

End your trip with a visit to the Copenhagen Street Food market, located on Paper Island. Grab a drink from one of the bars and enjoy the live music and bustling atmosphere. If you're feeling adventurous, try some exotic dishes like fried insects or shark meat!
